IDEATION
Wireframe
The app will include:
- Welcome screen
- Home with featured items and best sellers
- Shop page to shop by specific jewelry item (rings, necklaces, etc. )
- Filter option to filter by jewelry specification for experienced jewelry wearers
- Shop page based off of select filtered option
USER RESEARCH
usability study
Based off the wireframes, I conducted a usability study to gain feedback on the filters function for jewelry lovers and novices.
USER RESEARCH
Study findings
Based off the usability study the following conclusions were made below.
USER RESEARCH
Conclusions
Based off the research insights gathered from the usability study jewelry lovers who were asked to find an item or use the filters were comfortable navigating the app. However, jewelry novices were not able to locate the filters with as much ease as jewelry lovers. In order to help jewelry novices find options for themselves or loved ones, I've decided to incorporate an 'aesthetic quiz' into the final version of the mobile app.
BRANDING
logo
To accompany the jewelry e-commerce app, I created a brand that reflected my own personal aesthetic. Viva is a high fashion jewelry brand that appeals to the on-the-go, adventurous women who need jewelry that can keep up with their schedules.
BRANDING
Moodboard
In order tie in the brand identity into the app, I created a mood board for Viva to align the mobile application colors and typography into the app.
UX/UI
User interface
Incorporating all access points on the home page of the app that also piques the users interest was important. This was accomplished by bringing attention to the image focal points with jewelry items categorized by best sellers and new arrivals.
Scrolling further down the page reveals the aesthetic quiz for jewelry novices to take and receive a set a of recommendations based on the users answers.
